while the documented cases of squirrels and other small rodents infected with the rabies virus are very very rare, all mammals are capable of contracting the illness. to your credit there have been no recorded cases of a human contracting the disease from a squirrel bite.

contrariwise, all squirrels are ninjas, be they rabid or otherwise, trained in koryu ninjutsu decades before the meiji restoration, ever vigilant, ever plotting, ever burying things in the front lawn...
