I'm a 90's baby and I love Hanna Barbera. I wasn't really into Top Cat at the time until this summer. I saw a few episodes and found it adorable. Seeing this picture makes me want to hug each of them. Bill, Joe, we'll never forget you guys and your awesome achievements!
This is a very emotional and excellent work of art Rabid. I've been a fan of Top Cat and Joe Barbera's work since I was a kid and you perfectly honored his memory. I find my self getting choked up looking at this. Much respect for you RabidSquirrelNinja.
there weren't alot of cartoons by HB that particularly entertained me as much as this show. i would watch it every morning as i was getting ready for school. it was a great cast and concept and was far too short in run. i was already having a rough night when i heard he died so i sat right down and did this.
again, thanks for the support. it really means alot to me
hanna barbera was the name of a studio, not a person. william hanna and joseph barbera were the two animators who started the studio. they have both died now but this was done the night joe barbera died.
Shrekrulez here to interview Top Cat about the great Joe Barbera. So Top Cat, how did you feel when he died?
TOP CAT: Feeling depressed, shrekrulez. This man is a intelligent, trustworthy, creative cartoonist since the late Bill Hanna. Since in the 60's, we cool cats got a opportunity to be in the hit show on ABC. They were legenaries in the show biz. I will never forget them and neither is my gang.
Wait, I see one of your members of the gang. Hey, it's Benny the Ball. (hold on right leg and crying) Come on, Benny, I don't want to look like a embrassment.
BENNY: I'm sorry, shrekrulez, sir.
It's okay. So tell me about your career with the greatest team of entertainment?
BENNY: Well, they're the greatest cool cats of the business world. I remember of the time they were making Tom and Jerry. They were funny with their cartoonish violence. I laugh my hairball from Jerry. He's too cute. (sniffs) Before 2006 is over, he passed away. (Crying louder and hugging Top Cat as he hugging Benny back)
I see. Hmm. Choo-Choo, Fancy Fancy, the Brain and Officer Dibble, any comments about the late Joe Barbera?
OFFICER DIBBLE: I don't know what to say, shrekrulez. On my way to Hoogey's Alley before Xmas time, I saw T.C. and his gang were standing around. Doing absolutely nothing. They were feeling depressed. Top Cat show me a picture of Joe Barbera with candles and a funeral flowers. He told me, Joe died and he's not coming back for the holidays. (sighs) That's how it happened.
Yeah, I guess. Chooch?
CHOO CHOO: Hmm. Joe was the best professional artist and so is Bill Hanna no doubt. In fact, they made alot of characters in that time. After Bill Hanna's death, we were all devastated. Until this christmas, he's gone, too.
FANCY FANCY: Yeah, Joe is the coolest cat, shrekrulez. I miss working with that guy. I loved him and Bill Hanna, too.
SPOOK: We all do, man. Without Bill and Joe around, there's no one gonna do entertainment anymore. I mean, they made some no good shows to understand the good old days.
Well, there were few good shows, but, most of them weren't good at all. Before I finished the interview for DeviantART. com, the Brain got some words about Bill and Joe. The Brain, go ahead.
THE BRAIN: Duhhh.....thanks, whatever you are, sir. Bill and Joe, you were our greatest....duhhha.....inspiration to every character around. And,...duhha....we will never forget you both. The laughs, the fun, the comedy and most importantly....duhha......us. So long you both, you guys won't be forgotten.
ALL: BILL AND JOE, FARWELL, FOREVER!
That's all for the interview for DeviantArt.com, I would give this opportunity to thank Top Cat and his gang for the interview and saying ferewell to the greatest artist whoever lived and whomever passed awy in 2006. RIP, good friend, we'll miss you. Great drawing and tribute.
