You can dual-boot to both mac and windows with a macbook pro. I have one and it works great!

You can build a really powerful pc that will do whatever you need for 1/4 the price of a macbook pro or whatever.

Wait, before I'm voting, I just wanna know..Why would you need to trick out a pc that far dude? planing on playing next-gen games too?

Although the MacBook Pro IS a good laptop, the best "bang for your buck" will always be to build your own...

Well you are at a crossroads.
As an artist, I'm assuming you like to have a lot of control over most of the things you do. Make your own and you have complete control of EVERYTHING. You can cut out a lot of b.s and pump it up to do EVERYTHING you want so no "always upgrading" if done right.

On the other hand, you're an artist and 9/10 you are better off, graphically, on a mac.

Whatever suits you better.. I would buy the mac, just for the hardware, and install XP on it since it can be done now that or the uber frankenstein monster kind of PC
